This page explains, in plain language, what Adjustment Status Navigator is, what it is not, and what you should expect from it. Please read it carefully.
What we are
Adjustment Status Navigator is a software tool. It is operated by OtterMatic Systems LLC. Our purpose is to help people understand USCIS Policy Memorandum PM-602-0199 (issued 2026-05-21), organize their facts and documents, and prepare for a meeting with a licensed immigration attorney or a DOJ EOIR-recognized representative.
What we are not
The most important disclosure on this entire site:
Before you continue, please read and acknowledge:
1. Adjustment Status Navigator is NOT a law firm. What we provide is NOT legal advice. 2. We do NOT represent you in any USCIS matter and CANNOT create an attorney-client relationship. 3. We are NOT affiliated with USCIS, the Department of Homeland Security, or the Department of Justice Executive Office for Immigration Review. 4. We are NOT a notario, notario público, asesor legal, consultor de inmigración, or immigration consultant. 5. Information we provide is general and educational. It is not, and cannot be, advice about your specific case. 6. Outcomes in immigration matters depend on facts and law specific to each case. We do not predict outcomes and we do not determine eligibility. 7. To get legal advice, consult a licensed immigration attorney in your jurisdiction or a DOJ EOIR-recognized representative.
By continuing, you confirm that you have read and understand the above.
What this means in practice
- We do not interpret the law for your specific case. When you use the intake or the chatbot, we provide general educational information about the policy memo and the adjustment-of-status process. We do not, and cannot, tell you what will happen in your case.
- We do not predict outcomes. USCIS adjudication depends on facts and law specific to each case. Anyone telling you what USCIS "will" decide in your specific case is misleading you.
- We do not file forms. We help you organize the information that an attorney would want from you. We do not complete I-485, I-130, I-864, I-693, or any other USCIS form. We do not file anything with USCIS, DHS, or any government agency.
- We do not determine eligibility. Eligibility for adjustment of status, waivers, parole, or any other immigration benefit depends on a careful application of law to the specific facts of your case. That is work for a licensed attorney or a DOJ EOIR-recognized representative.
What we ask of you
- Use what you learn here to prepare for a meeting with an attorney. Bring your Topic List and your Attorney Prep Packet (if you purchase one) to that meeting.
- Do not present anything from this Service as guidance from an attorney. It is not.
- If anyone tells you that Adjustment Status Navigator is a law firm, that we represent you, or that we can act in any of the roles disclaimed in "What we are not" above, that is incorrect — please report it to us.
Where to find an attorney or DOJ EOIR-recognized representative
We do not refer cases for compensation. Resources we point users to include:
- The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) Find an Immigration Lawyer directory.
- The Department of Justice EOIR list of recognized organizations and accredited representatives.
- State bar lawyer-referral services in your state.
If you cannot afford an attorney, ImmigrationLawHelp.org maintains a directory of nonprofit immigration legal-services providers, many of which work on a sliding-scale or pro bono basis.
